How it all started...
The story of North Carolina Baptist Church is truly a story of God's provision and leading within our local body of believers. We give Him the glory for all He has done and all He will do!
In 2024, God began stirring the heart of Pastor John Williams and his wife, Deana, about the need for a gospel-centric Baptist church in the growing town of Wendell, North Carolina. Pastor John followed God's leading and moved his family from California back home to North Carolina and began raising support for what would become the North Carolina Baptist Church.

Planning and Preparation
From June of 2024 until May of 2025, Pastor John began prayerfully preparing for the launch of the North Carolina Baptist Church. Through these months, his family as well as Joshua and Hannah Johns traveled to other likeminded churches to share the vision and gather support for a new church plant.
God faithfully provided for every need, and allowed the Launch Team to begin making connections and inviting the Wendell community to be a part of something new. Even from these early days, God allowed us to see souls come to Christ as we sought to reach Wendell with the Gospel.

Life Groups in Wendell Middle School
On June 1, 2025, the North Carolina Baptist Church held its first Life Group in the cafeteria of Wendell Middle School. God provided a team of people from 2 churches to help with set-up and welcoming our first guests.
This was the first step in the formation of NCBC as a local church body. We met for Life Groups each Sunday morning as the church began taking it's first steps forward.

Charter Sunday - March 22nd, 2026
On March 22nd, 2026, the North Carolina Baptist Church signed it's official church charter and membership. By God's provision, we saw over 50 believers sign as charter members of North Carolina Baptist Church. Signing the charter is more than being a part of what God is doing, it displays a unity of heart, mind, and belief among the believers of North Carolina Baptist Church. God continues to work among us, and we are thankful.
What does the future hold?
We approach every Sunday with an excitement of what God will do. While we may not know every detail of what the coming years hold for our church family, our goal is to follow God faithfully, love others fully, and trust Him with each step.
God has blessed our church with 7 acres of land at our current location on Wendell Blvd. As our church family continues to grow, we look forward to continuing to improve our property to provide for the needs of our young and growing church. We are just getting started, and the best is yet to come!
